BOOKHAM VILLAGE DAY A DAY AT THE RACES 18 June Eastwick's cake stall had a black and white theme, reminiscent of the Ascot scene in "My Fair Lady". There were racing accessories and a list of runners. President Gill hung the black and white balloons Meanwhile the cakes kept coming. People were anxious to buy straight away so we put "sold" on the labels but kept them until after the stall had been judged. otherwise we would have been displaying an empty table! We dressed in black and white including hats of course. We're not sure what Liz was doing, but she wasn't on our stall! A cheer went up when it was announced that Eastwick had won the "Best Dressed Stall" - what an achievement! We proudly displayed the cup amongst the cakes. We took a total of £320.50 on the stall, all of which goes to The Bookham Community Association towards upkeep of the Old Barn Hall.
